Wegmans Super Premium Dog Food Recall News Alert

Wegmans Food Markets has issued a voluntary recall for the Lamb and Rice flavor of its Super Premium Adult Dog Food due to a batch containing potentially toxic mold. Only the 37.5 lb. bag is affected and only those bags with Batch/UPC Codes of: 02-2007 SMJ048. No other dog food varieties or code dates are being recalled.
Wegmans Food Markets is a chain of grocery stores that serves the northeast United States market, with more than 70 stores in the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware areas.
Wegmans carries a variety of dog food formulas in its Bruiser and Super Premium Dog Food lines. The Super Premium Dog Food product line was temporarily discontinued in 2003 when Mad Cow Disease in Canada affected distribution, but the products returned to store shelves once the USDA eased its ban on meat imports from Canada and after Wegmans added additional pet food production facilities in the U.S.
